If you are looking to immigrate to Canada through the Saskatchewan PNP, knowing that your NOC code is on the List of Occupations in Demand is not enough. It is important to know where your occupation ranks among the frequently invited NOC codes and the number of times your NOC code has been invited. That said, I am extremely happy to share the most frequently invited occupation list and their rankings in the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program for the year ending 2023.

Saskatchewan Top Ranking Occupations in Demand

The Consolidated SINP Draw Analysis Report looks at the list of the most drawn occupations in the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) from August 2018 to date based on the database we have built from the selections results published by SINP.

Why does draws ranking matter? The ranking gives a stronger indication of what the priorities are for SINP in addressing the labor market needs of the province of Saskatchewan and gives better insights for applicants looking to immigrate to Canada to make data driven decisions about their career choices as far as migrating by those occupations are concerned.

Our ranking list looks at 139 frequently invited NOC codes and their percentage draws from a consolidated SINP draw analysis from 2018 to 2023. This would be the first report of its kind to look into the SINP draws across NOC codes for comparative analysis.  We have also done SINP draw analysis for each NOC code based on expression of interest (EOI) points. The first rank are NOC codes 21120 – Public and environmental health and safety professionals; and 22232 – Occupational health and safety specialists. Out of 89 draws, these NOC codes have been drawn 67 times, putting them at the top of the list as the most invited occupations by SINP. This gives both codes an average percentage draw of 75%. Professionals in these NOC codes play significant roles in managing risks in high-risk industries such as the construction, mining, oil and gas and manufacturing to avoid occupational accidents and injuries, and public safety threats that could result in environment damages, loss of lives and properties. Count yourself lucky if you belong to any of these NOC codes.

The second ranked NOC code on the list is 70010 – Construction Managers. Out of 89 draws, this NOC code has been drawn 65 times, giving it an average percentage draw of 73%. This high score comes as no surprise, given the high demand for housing and other infrastructure needs in Canada. Saskatchewan has for long prioritized managers in the construction space to immigrate to Canada to support in planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating construction activities for nation building. The third ranked occupation is 32120 – Medical laboratory technologists. Out of 89 draws, the NOC has been invited 61 times, representing 69% of draws from 2018 to 2023. Medical laboratory technologist are no doubt in very high demand in Saskatchewan. They conduct medical laboratory tests, experiments and analyses to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of disease. They are employed in medical laboratories in hospitals, blood banks, community and private clinics, research facilities and post-secondary educational institutions.

The fourth ranked occupation is NOC code 80020 – Managers in Agriculture. Since Saskatchewan has a lot of farmlands it is quite expected that the province will need professionals in agriculture to be responsible for growing crops, raising and breeding livestock, poultry and other animals, marketing farm products and enhancing farms’ sustainability through, notably, the implementation of new technologies. From the draw analysis, this NOC code has been invited 60 times out of 89 draws and has a percentage draw of 67%.
